NiTi-HS (Thermal archwires) offers the clinician a heat-activated Niti archwire provided in its soft, pliable (martensitic) state designed to deliver high flexibility and allow easy ligation and slot engagement, even when presented with the most difficult of malocclusions; the characteristics of a true shape memory wire. The wire is engineered to have a consistent nominal transformation temperature of between 27°C-32°C where it becomes active (austenitic) and delivers its optimal gentle forces. This efficient application of forces gives the advantage of being able to place much larger size wires during earlier phases of treatment without compromising patient comfort. Alignment, torque and rotation can all be achieved at much earlier stages than with other wires.
