Sanmed Strument OPA Instrument Disinfectant:
Alcohol based Instrument Cleaners are one of the effective methods to fight against COVID-19. Making them far more effective than just keeping instruments clean. It helps in breaking the outer protein protective layer of the harmful microbes.
Strument OPA Instrument Disinfectant is Bactericidal, Fungicidal, Virucidal, and Sporicidal which required no activation. Its shelf life after opening the container is 75 days. It is compatible with all metal & non-metal medical devices and surgical instruments.
Composition:
Each 100 gms contains
Ortho-phthalaldehyde - 0.55 % w/w
Purified Water IP - Q.S

Applications & Directions for Use:
For safe, effective and rapid high level disinfection of heat-sensitive reusable semi-critical medical devices for which sterilization is not possible.
Refer to reusable device manufacturer’s labelling for instruction on disassembly, decontamination, cleaning and leak testing of their equipment.
Medical devices should be thoroughly cleaned, rinsed and roughly dried before immersing in StrumenOPA solution.
Immerse device completely, filling all lumens and eliminating air pockets in StrumenOPA solution for a minimum of 5 minutes at 20°C to destroy all pathogenic microbes.
After immersion time, the device should be taken out and thoroughly cleaned before using in next patient.
After transferring Strumen OPA solution to secondary container, do not use beyond 14 days.
Precautions:
Keep out of reach of children.
Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Do not mix with other chemicals.
Contraindications:
Strumen OPA solution should not be utilized to process any urological instrumentation used to treat patients with a history of bladder cancer. In rare instances Strumen OPA solution has been associated with anaphylaxis like reactions in bladder cancer patients undergoing repeated cystoscopies.
Strumen OPA solution should not be utilized to process instrumentation for patients with known sensitivity to Strumen OPA solution or any of its components.
Disinfectant Disposal:
Check local disposal regulations. Glycine (free base) may be used as a neutralizer for Strumen OPA solution prior to disposal.
A minimum of 33 gms of Glycine neutralizer should be used to neutralize 5 litres of StrumenOPA solution. The minimum recommended neutralization time is 1 hour. Discard residual solution into drain. Flush drain thoroughly with water.
Storage:
Store in original container below 30°C.
Do not freeze.
