MDC Dental Antivet is a fast and effective single visit treatment designed to remove brown stains caused by dental fluorosis and extrinsic discoloration from tobacco use. This dual-action treatment restores the natural appearance of enamel through a carefully formulated chemical process.

How It Works – Mode of Action:

Acidic Enamel Cleaning: The tooth surface is first treated with a low-pH enamel cleaning solution, which initiates the breakdown of stains embedded in the enamel. The acidic environment facilitates ionization of fluoride that has been absorbed into the apatite crystals of the enamel.

Separation and Solubilization: This chemical reaction allows the fluoride ions to dissociate from the apatite structure, converting into soluble salts that can be easily washed away. As a result, fluorosis-related discoloration and surface stains are effectively lifted from the enamel.

Neutralization Phase: After stain removal, a calcium hydroxide-based neutralizing solution is applied for 2 minutes to restore the enamel’s natural pH and stabilize the tooth surface.

Final Rinse: The tooth is then thoroughly rinsed with water to eliminate any residual solution, leaving behind a cleaner and brighter enamel surface.
