Instructions for Use
Affixation
- Cut the Perfect-Splint net to the desired length. Cut V-shapes along the gingival margin side to match the interproximal area.
- Clean the teeth to be splinted with cleaning paste and etch the the palatinal or lingual glued surface with a phosphoric acid medium, such as Micro-Etch.
- Place the orthodontical wire (cut into approx. 5 cm pieces) interproximally along the prepared teeth.
- Apply a thin layer of composite to the entire etched tooth surface.
- Place a small amount of a f lowable composite in the center of the palatinal or lingual surface of the tooth. Start with the first tooth to be splinted.
- Push the prepared Perfect-Splint net to the tooth with an instrument, e.g. an amalgam condensor. The material should pour through the mesh. If this does not happen, apply more of a flowable composite to the mesh.
- Allow the composite to cure.
- Lead the orthodontical wire over the net to the labial side and pull it with both ends of the wire into the approximal area. Repeat
- procedure from point 5.
- Remove the wires and completely cover the Perfect-Splint net with a composite material
Areas of application:
- traumatically or periodontically loosened teeth
- transplanted, implanted under replanted teeth
- before and after surgical procedures
- diastema closures
- orthodontical procedures
Recommendation: intraoral use not longer than 30 day
Removal
- Place the Desmoclean instrument in the green, slowly rotating contra angle hand piece and loosen the mesh interdentally between the teeth that were splinted last.
- When the net is ripped, it can be removed palatinally or lingually with Desmoclean - with light pressure and water spray.
- Once the mesh is removed and the etched enamel smoothed, a sealing of the area is recom-men-ded in order to prevent the development of caries.
- The gingiva calms down quickly by applying the Myzotect-Tincture or Miradont Gel.
- Perfect-Splint-System is a disposable product. It was not designed to be re-used. Sterilizing it could have a negative impact on the product features. Re-use of the article causes a high risk of infection.
Other instruments, such as finishers, may also be employed. The Desmoclean provides for a fast and easy removal while preventing damage to the enamel. Tartar that could not be removed during the wear of a splint can be eliminated at the same time and without instrument change.
