Goodwill Hemosponge

Goodwill Hemosponge is a sterile, absorbable hemostatic gelatin sponge widely used to control bleeding during and after tooth extractions, as well as in various oral surgeries. Its compact size makes it especially suitable for use in hard-to-reach or confined areas such as during epistaxis and other minor oral surgical procedures.
How Hemosponge Works:
The porous, spongy structure of Hemosponge offers an ideal surface for blood platelets (thrombocytes) to adhere. Upon contact with oozing blood, the platelets activate and release substances that promote self-aggregation. Simultaneously, this activation triggers a cascade of blood coagulation events, accelerating the formation of fibrin clots. This natural process rapidly arrests bleeding and supports effective wound management.
