It is used as a protective base beneath an amalgam restoration; as a temporary fitting, as an anodying dressing to aid in the recovery of an inflamed pulp. When temporary fitting is required, used as a luting agent for stainless steel,gold and vitallium crown. It is also used for root canal filling.
