Superb polish: In-vitro testing results show Ketac™ N100 restorative has higher initial polish than other glass ionomer materials.

The study uses images taken under an Atomic Force Microscope (AFMs) to prove the smooth surface of Ketac™ N100 restorative and a composite material after being polished with a diamond-impregnated polishing system – whereas the surfaces of two competitive resin-modified glass ionomers showed surface imperfections.
Ketac™ N100 Light-Curing Nano-Ionomer Restorative is the first paste/paste, resin-modified glass ionomer material developed with nanotechnology. Because it adds benefits not usually associated with glass ionomers, it has resulted in a whole NEW category of glass ionomer restorative: the nano-ionomer.
The technology of Ketac™ N100 restorative represents a blend of fluoraluminosilicate (FAS) technology and nanotechnology originally developed for Filtek™ Supreme Universal Restorative. This combination offers unique characteristics of wear and polish.
Filler particle size can influence strength, optical properties and abrasion resistance. By using nano-sized fillers and nanoclusters, along with FAS glass, Ketac™ N100 restorative provides enhanced aesthetics as well as the benefits of glass ionomer chemistry, such as fluoride release.
High Flouride Release: Ketac™ N100 restorative shows high fluoride release that is rechargeable after being exposed to a topical fluoride source. Additionally, in-vitro tests showed Ketac™ N100 restorative’s ability to create a caries inhibition zone after acid exposure
